By the end of this course, students will be able to delineate their teaching philosophy as well as their personal practical theories and the way they operationalize them in the language classroom. They will also depict what moral and ethical issues characterize their thinking and classroom practice. Pedagogically speaking, they will sharpen their planning skills and pedagogical decision-making and performance. Specifically, they will critically assess and refine key skills in creating effective learning environments, in teaching learner-centered language lessons and in using effective communication and presence skills. Further, they will critically reflect individually and collaboratively with their tutor on a number of classroom incidents that play a role in learners’ language development.
